Judge Sean Warner was raised in Holmes County, Ohio. He graduated from West

Holmes High School. After attending Boston University for several years, he graduated

from The Ohio State University with a B.A. in History. Sean then stayed at Ohio State

for law school earning his J.D.

Sean started his legal career as an associate attorney at the Critchfield Law Firm working in the Millersburg office. While at Critchfield he maintained a practice that included real estate, estate planning, business litigation, commercial collections, and worker’s compensation representing area businesses.

In 2010 Sean joined the Holmes County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office as an Assistant

Prosecuting Attorney where he primarily appeared in the Holmes County Common

Pleas Court Juvenile Division representing Holmes County Children Services in juvenile

Abuse, Neglect and Dependency cases. He also prosecuted cases of juvenile delinquency as well as adult felony offenders in the Holmes County Common Pleas Court General Division. Sean also advised Holmes County elected and appointed officials in legal matters concerning the county.

In 2016 Sean was elected the Holmes County Prosecuting Attorney and served in that

role from 2017 through 2020. In 2020, Sean was elected Judge of the Holmes County

Court of Common Pleas, General and Domestic Relations Divisions. He took office on February 9, 2021.

Judge Warner has served his community and his profession in various capacities

throughout his career. He is a past board member of the Holmes County Humane

Society and Holmes County Chamber of Commerce. He also served as past board

member and president of the Holmes County Bar Association and as a board member of the Stark Regional Community Corrections Center. When Sean is not working, he is

almost always enjoying the company of his wife and three children.
